Christine attended her first yoga class in 1995 during a period of illness. Upon leaving the class, she found that she was pain free.Yoga completely transformed her life and enabled her to heal. As a result, Christine started a yoga training program and has been teaching ever since.

Christine is certified by the Himalayan Institute Teachers Association and has been teaching yoga for the last 15 years. She is a licensed professional counselor and stress management specialist for the Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease.

Christine’s background in counseling psychology has led to an interest in yoga therapy. As a result, she has attended trainings with Judith Hanson Lasater, Sonia Sumar, Karen Hasskarl, and Amy Weintraub. Christine has completed the level one training of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and is a Yoga for the Special Child Practitioner. All of Christine’s classes contain a therapeutic element to help her students reconnect and heal.

Christine started her journey into the practice of taekwondo in 2011. Like yoga, taekwondo has completely changed her life. She finds taekwondo to be empowering and loves introducing everyone she knows to the practice.

Christine likes to spend her free time writing poetry and children’s books. Christine’s book, I Can Be: A Child’s Whimsical Introduction to Yoga, is a fun way for kids to initiate a lifelong practice of yoga.

After studying abroad and obtaining my degree, I taught French in grades 1-12. Eight years ago, I left my job to stay home with my sons. I feel blessed to be starting my next big adventure- practicing Taekwondo and Sijahk Yoga!

I am so enthusiastic about the combination of Taekwondo and yoga because in addition to having fun, I am getting a complete workout. Both my mind and my body are challenged and energized. The integration of self-defense training adds a sense of empowerment. The flexibility, strength and stress-management skills that I have learned make me feel like I am taking a proactive role in my health. I cannot encourage you enough to give it a try!

I started running 20 years ago to get in shape for my wedding. I have since run hundreds of races including the Boston Marathon! After several running related injuries, I tried yoga for low impact cross training. After practicing yoga, I felt stronger, more flexible, and less injury prone. My husband and three children joined taekwondo last year. Feeling left out, I joined shortlvy after. I didn't realize what a great workout for your mind and body it would be. The fusion of taekwondo and yoga gives you total body conditioning, forcing you to focus and concentrate on your form and movements. I am thrilled to be a part of it!
